Engineering
The Kia brand offers much in terms of capability, and the 2026 Sorento is no exception. It comes with two engine options, including a standard 2.5L 4-cylinder motor and an available 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder system. The former produces 191 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque, while the latter generates up to 281 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. Unfortunately, the PALISADE only has one option, a standard 3.5L 6-cylinder engine that produces 287 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The Kia model also has Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart drive modes in its base trim, while the Hyundai SUV only has Eco, Sport, and My Drive modes. Both vehicles provide available AWD to keep your wheels on the ground when you head to Monte Sano State Park.
Interior
If you are looking for a three-row SUV for your family road trips, then comfort should be a defining factor of your adventure. Both the 2026 Kia Sorento and 2026 Hyundai PALISADE have standard 6-way driver’s seats, but only the Sorento has an available 14-way power captain’s seat to make you feel like royalty. The Kia vehicle is also the only one of the two to offer a standard leather-wrapped shift knob. Both of these cars have standard cloth upholstery and optional leatherette or leather alternatives. However, the Kia Sorento has several different color options for you to choose from, including black, olive, and gray! Expect to remain comfortable during the summer, thanks to the available ventilated front seats that these models offer.
Technology
Do you wish for a car that has many modern features in its cabin? The 2026 Kia Sorento is prepared to make your trips worthwhile, as it comes with a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen display1 in the center console. The 2026 Hyundai PALISADE has a similar display, but it only offers six standard USB ports scattered around the interior, while its competitor offers up to seven. Additionally, both models come with standard push-button start to help you get going on your I-565 trip more quickly, but only the Sorento has standard remote start2 that can rev up the engine from afar. “ From choosing a car to test drive to driving off the lot with a brand new car, our experience was FANTASTIC!!! Very appreciative of our salesperson, Steven Little. I met with him on a Thursday to initiate a conversation about buying a new car for my wife as a surprise. He answered all the questions I had up front and set up an appointment for my wife and I to come back and talk with him more. Unfortunately, we ran a little behind getting to the appointment and he was with another customer. However, he took a moment to greet us and had another salesperson (Henry) work with us. Henry got us in a couple of vehicles to test drive and started our paperwork process efficiently. What surprised us was the fact Steven came back to us when he finished with the other customer. He worked side-by-side with Henry to get us in the system and then he personally wanted to make sure he finished the process with us and got us in a new car. He worked to get the price within our budget and explained all the line items of the sale. He ensured we had all the information we needed about the car before we left and made sure we were extremely satisfied. Getting through financing was a breeze! Andrew explained every piece of paper thoroughly and also answered any questions we had. Very patient as we took the time to actually read a couple of the documents. We told him were were previous customers (10+ years ago) and he made took the time to get that information so he could honor that loyalty. Once the paperwork was done, my wife's new car was presented to her with a giant bow on top. She was very excited to see that! There was a young lady who walked her through all of the car's functions, made sure her phone was connected, and made sure the apps were working as well and was hyping her up the entire time lol. However, Ayanna and Stacey were very kind, patient, helpful, and their customer service was more than able to make up for the mishap that occurred earlier. I think they are great assets to this business as they were willing to go above and beyond to correct my experience. “ If I could give this review 0 stars I would. This is one of the worst Kia’s I have been to. I started looking for a new telluride hybrid for my family around a month ago. Drove one of their cars several times. I was given an out the door price on a white hybrid ex around two weeks ago before I went on vacation. I went back on Saturday to purchase a black hybrid ex and was offered $3500 less on my trade in (compared to other companies) and they added $2-3k more on the outdoor price. They would not show me the outdoor but when I added it together it was significantly more than I was originally quoted. It was very manipulative. Mike told me that the black hybrid ex was completely different than the white even though it had NO upgrades to it and both colors were considered upgrades. This Kia charged far more than the Kia’s within a 150 mile radius but because I live close, I was willing to pay a little more but not what they quoted. I called another Kia about 2 hours away and they gave me an out the door that was SIGNIFICANTLY less. I ended up getting a telluride hybrid x-line sx for almost the same price as the hybrid ex at the Huntsville location. Not only did I have a bad experience but my mom and sister in law had terrible experiences as well. My mom ended up buying from another Kia thirty minutes from Huntsville. My sister in law went with a different brand all together after they yelled at her for initialing a piece of paper and not buying the car. I would highly recommend doing your research and buying from a reputable dealership. ”
“ I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Within just six months of purchasing my brand-new 2026 K5, I experienced a tire defect. I made several attempts to contact someone by phone but was unable to reach anyone for assistance. When I visited the dealership in person, I explained the condition of the tire and expected support, especially since the vehicle is practically new. To my surprise, they refused to replace the tire and informed me that there was no coverage available. The explanation I was given made very little sense and left me completely baffled. During the purchase process, I believed I was doing everything right by purchasing additional coverage for added peace of mind. Unfortunately, when I actually needed assistance, that coverage seemed to provide no benefit at all. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and unwillingness to help a customer with a recently purchased vehicle have left me frustrated and disappointed. I expected much better treatment and support after making such a significant purchase. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously and works to improve both communication and transparency regarding coverage and warranty options. ”
